After patiently waiting 21 days, Mrs. Pastrovich's First Grade class has officially become chicken farmers! We successfully hatched 20 chicks after spending the weeks leading up to it learning facts about the incubating and hatching process. We're now busy holding, petting, and watching them grow in our classroom. Thank you to the Academic Foundation for the grant that gave us the incubator a year ago, it's the gift that keeps on giving. A very special thank you to Samantha Young for donating the chicken eggs. We are all so incredibly grateful!
The Mt. Olive School District will have a School Board vacancy in June. If you would like to apply, please click on the link to fill out the Letter of Interest.

The First Grade classes enjoyed a hike and some fishing at Pere Marquette for their field trip on Friday. The weather was perfect and the fish were biting! 🎣
Thank you to everyone who volunteers within our Mt. Olive School District! You are appreciated!

🧪🔬 Hands-on learning in action!
Ms. Spudich’s dual-credit Human Biology class is wrapping up its unit on reproduction with an engaging, in-depth rat dissection lab. Students had the opportunity to examine male, female, and pregnant specimens, allowing them to compare reproductive anatomy across sexes.
During the dissection of pregnant rats, students carefully observed and removed the fetuses to analyze differences in gestational development. This provided a unique, real-world perspective on how organisms grow and develop over time, as students compared variations in size, shape, and anatomical features.
Experiences like this bring science to life—helping students build a deeper understanding of biology through observation, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration. Great work, future scientists! 👏
